One of the benefits of living in an LLC is the weekly activities we have that push us to engage more deeply with the theme of the housing we’re in. Living in the Outdoor LLC, our activities revolve around getting outside and exploring what it means to live a life of adventure outdoors while still being in the middle of a city. Every week brings a new activity and with it, a new challenge. Like I mentioned in this blog post, last week we biked around Amager, the island we live on. This week, however, we took to the water to kayak around a few of the many canals in Copenhagen!

tower wednesday has been postponed due to rain, or, museum wednesday
Most Wednesdays here at DIS we have field studies, where we spend the day with various classes diving deeper into a certain topic or subject. Twice this semester, however, there are Wednesdays when I have no field studies—and today was one of them!
learning danish from subtitles, or, an evening with my visiting host family
Yesterday I saw cows, stood in a farm field, and played fetch with a dog. Yes, this is basically exactly what I did all summer at home as well, but this time I did it in DENMARK! WITH MY VISITING HOST FAMILY!

friday five #2
not those kind of zones, or, some reflections
I’ve now been here over a week, and it’s crazy how quickly I’ve settled into a routine. It’s made Copenhagen feel far more like home than it ever would, and I still have four months left to call Holmbladsgade home! I’m currently sitting in the Studenterhuset, a student-run coffee shop near the DIS buildings and the Round Tower (which I’m going into later today with my roommate Rachel!). After getting a croissant and hot chocolate and sitting down to do some reading, I realized that my life has literally become an aesthetically pleasing Instagram. I’m okay with it.
In the time between now and my next class, I thought I would share a few reflections I’ve made from the last…however many days I’ve now been in Denmark.
friday five #1
Every Friday this semester, I’ll be posting five pictures from the previous week as a way of giving a little visual insight into what my days here in Copenhagen look like. Here’s the first of many to come!
still confused by public transportation, or, arrival workshop days #3-4

I had to triple check my calendar when writing out that title, because how have I only been in Copenhagen for two days?
